HDM Steel Pipe Industry and Trade Inc. (“HDM”) was established in 2002 in Gebze district of Kocaeli province. HDM has specialized in the production of steel construction/piling pipes used in LNG terminals, Cruise ports, sea and port structures and structural improvements on land. In 2009, HDM has invested in a production facility to produce steel construction/piling pipes in Mersin Free Zone, which has its own port.
HDM serves in different sizes and special lengths for the steel construction and steel piling pipe sectors. HDM also manufactures octagonal profiles which are used in the main carriers of solar energy panels in systems that follow the sun rays. In addition to these, HDM has also completed its investment in the production of welding wire, which is consumed by the entire manufacturing sector, where steel materials are processed by welding.
HDM is an export-oriented global company and exports its products to 57 countries in 5 continents. By specializing in a niche product range with the personal and corporate experience of its founders in steel piling pipe manufacturing sector for nearly 40 years, HDM offers project-based niche features (sheet thickness, different quality standards, pipe lengths and diameters, etc.) in accordance with international quality standards (TSE, API, EN, ASTM) to international investors, contractors, and engineering companies.
HDM carries out most of its production activities in its production facility, which was established in Mersin Free Zone in 2009, with a total area of 43.000 m², 32.000 m² of which is closed. In this production facility; steel construction/piling pipes having a diameter range from 406 mm to 3750 mm and a wall thickness range up to 50 mm can be produced and insulated in accordance with international quality standards with spiral welded, longitudinal welded and other technologies. HDM can manufacture steel piles with a length of 80 m and a weight of 100 tons in one piece and can be transported by sea transportation from the port of Mersin Free Zone.
HDM has a domestic production facility in Gemlik with a total area of 15,000 m², 4,100 m² of which is closed. This facility has produced steel pipes until 2022. In addition, in some periods before 2022, the machinery and equipment in this facility were mostly used for works that require on-site production carried out at the customer's site. In 2022, the machinery and equipment of the plant were used in the production facility in Mersin. It is aimed to use this facility more as a steel service center in the future.
HDM also uses on-site manufacturing method in addition to the production in its own production facilities. With this method, HDM can quickly mobilize with the concept of mobile production facility in the existing construction sites, and can manufacture pipes at the standard and quality of a settled production facility, and can reduce the transportation and labor costs for contractors. With this method, HDM last completed the Filyos Port project in 2020.
In addition, HDM has 2 subsidiaries; one in the UK and one in the USA.
Pipe Manufacturing Solutions Ltd. (“PMS”), which is a 100% subsidiary of HDM, was established in Cardiff, UK in November 2019 and produces and sells steel construction/pile pipes in the steel pipe industry. PMS has a production facility in Cardiff with a total area of 10,000 m², 5,000 m² of which is closed. PMS is the only company in the UK to manufacture spiral welded steel pipes for use in offshore and port structures, according to data shared by the UK Steel Association.
JD Fields HDM Spiralweld Mill, LLC (“Fields HDM”), which is a 50% subsidiary of HDM, was established in Houston, Texas in January 2021 and started production as of October 2022. JD Fields & Company, Inc. (“JD Fields”) owns the other 50% of the shares.
HDM and US-based steel pipe manufacturer JD Fields are engaged in this partnership to manufacture, insulate and trade of steel pipes of all kinds and diameter with spiral welded, longitudinal welded and other technologies in accordance with international quality standards. Fields HDM has a production facility in Houston with a total area of 28.500 m², 12.500 m² of which is closed.
